Paramount Van Lines – Terms of Service
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all moving, packing, storage, transportation, and related services (“Services”) provided by Paramount Van Lines (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking a move, paying a deposit, or using any of our Services, the customer (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agrees to these Terms.
These Terms apply to local, statewide (Florida), interstate, and nationwide moves.
2. Estimates & Pricing
2.1. All estimates provided verbally or in writing are non-binding until confirmed in the final written order.
2.2. Estimates may change based on inventory, access, packing needs, additional items, elevators, long carries, stairs, fuel, tolls, storage, or any additional labor or services requested on moving day.
2.3. Customer acknowledges that the final cost may differ from the estimate if the actual services exceed the original scope.
3. Deposits & Payments
3.1. A deposit is required to secure a move date. Deposits are applied toward the total cost of the move.
3.2. All deposits are 100% NON-REFUNDABLE.
3.3. Payment methods accepted may include credit card, ACH, wire, certified check, or cash.
3.4. Full payment is due before delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.5. Any unpaid balances may be subject to storage fees, holding fees, or legal collection costs.
4. Cancellation & Reschedule Policy
4.1. Paramount Van Lines enforces a strict 72-hour cancellation policy.
- Cancellations made 72 hours or more before the scheduled move date:
— Deposit is non-refundable but may be applied as a credit toward a future move within 12 months. - Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the move date:
— Deposit is forfeited and no credit will be issued.
— Additional cancellation fees may apply depending on labor, trucking, and scheduling allocations.
4.2. Rescheduling is allowed one time at no cost if requested 72 hours or more before the move.
4.3. Same-day cancellations or no-shows are billed at 100% of the minimum move charge.
5. No Refund Policy
5.1. Paramount Van Lines maintains a No Refund Policy on all deposits, payments, services, and completed work.
5.2. Once a move has started, no refunds, partial refunds, or chargebacks will be issued for any reason.
6. Customer Responsibilities
The Customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- Provide accurate inventory and details regarding stairs, elevators, access, and special items.
- Be present or appoint a representative during pickup, loading, and delivery.
- Ensure furniture is emptied unless packing was purchased.
- Secure fragile items, electronics, and personal valuables.
- Notify the Company in writing of any changes to inventory or address.
- Disclose any oversized, heavy, or specialty items (e.g., safes, pianos, pool tables, appliances).
Failure to disclose accurate information may result in additional fees or delayed service.
7. Liability & Valuation Coverage
7.1. Paramount Van Lines provides basic valuation coverage as required by federal and/or state regulations.
7.2. This is not insurance and covers only limited liability per pound, per item.
7.3. For full replacement-value coverage, Customer must purchase third-party moving insurance prior to the move.
7.4. The Company is not responsible for:
- Pressboard or particle-board furniture
- Loose items not packed in boxes
- Electronics not boxed
- Natural wear, aging, or pre-existing damage
- Items Customer packs
- Damage resulting from improper assembly or disassembly
- Outdoor furniture, plants, glass, or fragile décor not boxed
8. Storage Terms
If storage is required:
- Monthly storage fees apply.
- Customer must remain current on all balances.
- Items may be sold or disposed of after 60 days of non-payment.
- Storage is not climate controlled unless specified in writing.
9. Delivery Windows & Delays
9.1. For long-distance moves, delivery dates are estimated, not guaranteed.
9.2. Weather, traffic, mechanical issues, inspections, and federal regulations may cause delays.
9.3. Paramount Van Lines is not responsible for hotel, rental car, or inconvenience costs caused by delays.
10. Chargebacks & Disputes
10.1. Customer agrees not to dispute or charge back any payments made for Services.
10.2. Any disputes must be submitted in writing to our claims department within 7 business days of delivery.
10.3. Chargebacks will be treated as intentional fraud, and the Company may pursue legal action and collection costs.
11. Prohibited Items
We do not transport:
- Hazardous materials
- Explosives or flammables
- Live animals
- Perishables
- Firearms or ammunition
- Illegal substances
- Jewelry, cash, or high-value personal items (Customer must move these personally)
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal transportation regulations. Customer agrees to resolve disputes exclusively in Palm Beach County, Florida.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By booking, paying a deposit, signing paperwork, or using any service provided by Paramount Van Lines, the Customer acknowledges:
- They have read and agree to these Terms.
- They authorize Paramount Van Lines to perform the Services.
- They accept all policies including No Refunds and the 72-Hour Cancellation Policy.
